I have seen some finished planes without the wood "Javelins" (sp)
What are some thoughts on with and without?

I would definitely want them on the CB-1 because of the rear wires being close, and they just keep the wires 'quieter'. I used 3/4 dowels attached with rib stitch chord wrapping and spar varnish brushed on the chord which prevents unraveling.
I did a Waco RNF where I cut out two notched areas and made a 'plug' matching the cut out (with wire shaped recesses). I then attached the flush fitting plug with brass machine screws and nuts. I just like the old fashion look of the chord on my airplane.
