Pitch Trim Control and Cable

Post by mmarien »

I built this pitch trim control and then decided to go with electric pitch trim. More information about the control in my blog: http://myhatz.blogspot.com/2020/12/2020 ... -trim.html

The control comes with an 11 foot A-920 cable ($150 value) from Aircraft Spruce. Asking $200 for both.

The link doesn't work, needs to be https:

My Hatz had a simple lever for trim. It worked, but was very touchy.

Thanks for fixing the link Dana.

I designed a lever with notches but changed my mind. This uses a jack screw so the positions are infinite. I got the idea from the J3 Cub next door. It has a jack screw to move the horizontal stabilizer.

Hi Murray, I could possibly be interested in your trim unit. I am building a Ryan ST replica and don't want or trust electric trim systems. Can the 11 ft. cable you have be trimmed down to a shorter length? Thanks- Steve

I don't think the cable can't be trimmed. They are made to length.
